Struggling to find an OPPO store for that new phone? You've hit the jackpot! OPPO has joined forces with Amazon.in, making all their smartphones available on the platform, starting with the iconic Find 7. While OPPO phones were available on Amazon before, now every device will carry the ‘fulfilled by Amazon’ mark.

Previously, OPPO's retail footprint was restricted to 12 key Indian cities—New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Pune, and Lucknow. Now, online retailing means Oppo aficionados across India can finally grab a gadget for themselves.

OPPO foretold in its 2014 strategy to bring 200 service centers and 10 fresh products to India before the end of the year. The brand also pledged distinctive local warranty for its smartphones in select regions.

The Find 7a and its sibling, Find 7, showcased devices that balanced competitive pricing with groundbreaking features. It seems OPPO has at last clued into the nuances of the Indian market. Many Indian retailers are nowfocused on online sales to trim the cost, making a hands-on experience elusive before purchase. Yet, this approach brings its own benefits.

On this significant collaboration, Tom Lu, CEO of OPPO Mobiles India, commented, “Consumer-centricity is at the heart of our ethos. In this digital era, where online consumption is the norm, we see e-commerce as a key channel. We aim to let Indian consumers own an OPPO smartphone from any corner of the nation. With Amazon India's support, we're set to achieve this. OPPO smartphones are globally revered, and we want to extend our offerings to those Indian consumers who cherish superior quality and genuine innovation.”

Said Samir Kumar, Director of Category Management at Amazon India, “We are thrilled to be the go-to partner for OPPO Mobiles. Providing our customers with the convenience of shopping for the full OPPO smartphone range at www.amazon.in aligns with our vision to offer India a diverse selection of products, delighting them with a smooth, trusted, and globally recognized mobile shopping experience.”

It thwarts the regulatory aim of empowering consumers to opt out of unwanted calls and messages, and we are left with no choice but to scrutinize Apple's actions more closely. The app, aimed to streamline the process of opting out of telemarketing calls and SMS, has seen significant support from consumers who are increasingly being bombarded with interrupts to their daily activities. The TRAI had counted on the partnership with Apple to further expand the reach and convenience of the service.Industry analysts have suggested that the rejection could be due to a range of factors, from technical issues like subscription management to disputes over compliance guidelines. Regardless of the rationale, the situation highlights a growing tension between tech firms and regulatory bodies worldwide as they navigate the complexities of competing interests and public policy. As the TRAI assesses the implications of Apple's decision, they have vowed to continue their pursuit to protect consumers from the adverse effects of overbearing marketing tactics. Meanwhile, users are left to grapple with an apparent compromise on their right to chose what communication comes through to their devices.
